SkyStar Observation Wheel

To celebrate Golden Gate Park’s 150th anniversary this year, here’s a sparkling addition: the SkyStar Observation Wheel, a 150-foot tall ride akin to a Ferris wheel but with enclosed gondolas that afford views of the park, city and the Pacific Ocean. 50 Years of Fabulous

Oct. 23. In recognition of October’s LGBT History Month, Frameline Distribution—the world’s only non-profit LGBTQ+ film distributor—presents the virtual release of 50 Years of Fabulous through San Francisco’s famed nonprofit cinema Roxie Theater. The documentary recounts the rich history of the Imperial Council, the oldest LGBT charity organization in the world, and documents the full scope of the organization’s historical evolution up to its contemporary struggle in finding relevance. 7 p.m. $10. roxie.com

El Día de los Muertos at OMVA

Oct. 25. Bring the family to celebrate and learn about Día de los Muertos with Oakland Museum of CA. Annually, OMCA is transformed into a sacred space, and this year, the OMCA El Día de los Muertos Volunteer Committee members welcome you, and every generation of your family, to their homes and gardens, to join the one-hour virtual celebration with Mesoamérican traditions.
