Free National Parks Week

April 17-25. Sometimes you’ve just got to get away from it all and clear your head with the peace and serenity of a national park. On certain “fee-free” days throughout the year, enjoy free entry to all national parks and monuments including Muir Woods (pictured) and Yosemite National Park. There’s also free admission aboard all of the historic vessels at the Hyde Street Pier of SF’s Maritime National Historical Park. Parks across the country will host a variety of special programs, events and digital experiences. nps.gov

Quarantini Mixer Afternoon Tea with Malaya Tea Room

April 17. Spill the tea at the Quarantini Mixer—an online social club—put on by the Oakland Asian Cultural Center (OACC). Join OACC and Leena Lim from the Malaya Tea Room to learn how to create an afternoon tea experience for yourself and others at home, enjoy fun conversation and a chance to win some raffle prizes! Ocean Beach Cafe Grand Opening with Pop-Up Beach Party

Opens April 17. Get your friends and family together to celebrate the grand opening of Ocean Beach Cafe, located right near the Cliff House on Ocean Beach. The event will include a live DJ, a community beach clean-up, a guided meditation and a beach party with well-known lawn games—think Spikeball, cornhole, and large Jenga. New Belgium Brewing

Now Open. Enjoy a drink at this newly opened restaurant and taproom offering a stellar beer and dining experience with a world-class beer menu and globally inspired seasonal cuisine from Laura and Sayat Ozyilmaz. Guests will be able to enjoy themselves at a table, bar side, or outside on the patio overlooking the canal—a great spot for warm days and nights before a game. New Belgium Brewing is the third-largest craft brewer in the U.S., based in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Tailor’s Son

Now Open. If you’ve been craving Italian cuisine, swing by this new restaurant on Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights. Founded and owned by Adriano Paganini, The Tailor’s Son is the newest in the continuing expansion of a prolific S.F. restaurant group serving a simply straightforward selection of Northern Italian classics. Try a few different types of risottos, grilled octopus, agnolotti del plin (pictured) and fritto misto. There’s also a cocktail menu with negronis, martinis, seasonal aperitivos, and an entirely Italian wine list. SuperStella

Upcoming | April 19. Get your friends together for an elevated glamping dining experience at the new SuperStella parked at the Ferry Building Plaza with views of the San Francisco Bay, Bay Bridge and the building’s iconic clock tower. Created by chef Anthony Strong, private parties of up to four guests can enjoy this unique culinary experience, which consists of a multi-course menu enjoyed inside Strong’s renovated 1989 Volkswagen camper van (also known as Stella). SFMOMA Art Bash Home

Through April 15. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) announces that SFMOMA Art Bash Home, its art-filled annual fundraiser, will be reimagined as a free virtual event series. On the final day of the series, enjoy performances by Tycho, The Younger Lovers and Lower Grand Radio DJs hosted by emcee Dhaya Lakshminarayanan. San Francisco-based and two-time Grammy-nominated producer Scott Hansen, professionally known as Tycho, creates rolling sonic landscapes that extend into the horizon. 6 p.m. Free. artbash.sfmoma.org

SF Performances’ Theo Bleckmann’s Duet for One

April 15. Get ready for a new adventurous online series called Front Row PIVOT on San Francisco Performances’ free digital space. This weekend, enjoy the release of Theo Bleckmann’s Duet for One, an original program created for San Francisco Performances that includes music for voice, loops and other toys. Grammy-nominated Theo Bleckmann is a jazz singer and new music composer of eclectic tastes and prodigious gifts. 11 a.m.-noon. San Francisco Greek Film Festival 

April 16-25. Calling all film buffs! The San Francisco Greek Film Festival (SFGFF) will showcase free virtual screenings along with one in-person drive-in event. The program details are now online, with ticketing available, all via the virtual Festival portal. Until indoor theatres are able to reopen, the nostalgic experience of a drive-in movie is a safe opportunity to watch a film in person with an audience. sfgff2021.eventive.org
