First came the coronavirus pandemic that shut down all nonessential businesses for months. And then in mid-August lightning strikes sparked the LNU Lightning Complex Fires, bringing havoc to Napa, Sonoma and neighboring counties.
Even before those fires were completely extinguished, the Glass Fire swept through the North Bay, forcing residents from their homes and destroying or damaging wineries that had been part of the landscape for generations.
It’s been a tough year for the Wine Country. But as fire crews make progress with the Glass Fire, its resilient communities are already bouncing back. Their world-renowned restaurants continue to welcome guests for outdoor dining, with social-distancing practices in place.
