Outside Lands Festival Returning on Halloween Weekend

By Cicero A. Estrella

Better late than never.

The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival is returning on Oct. 29 to 31—almost three months than previously scheduled—and organizers of the music and food festival at Golden Gate Park have announced the daily lineups with the Strokes, Lizzo and Tame Impala serving as the headliners.

Single-day general admission tickets were put on sale last week and quickly sold out. As of this writing, only three-day and single-day Golden Gate Club tickets for premium experiences were available. (But we’re sure crafty festival-goers will somehow find tickets to catch their favorite acts.)

The Strokes will take the stage last on opening day and will be preceded by such artists as Glass Animals, Kaytranada, Khruangbin, EARTHGANG, Sharon Van Etten and Tyler, the Creator.

Lizzo will be joined on Saturday by Vampire Weekend, ZHU, Young Thug, Lord Huron, Melanie Martinez, 24KGoldn and more.

Tame Impala will close out Halloween night, with J Balvin, RUFUS DU SOUL, Kehlani, Nelly, Brittany Howard and Burna Boy among the other acts also performing.

Golden Gate Park has hosted the popular event since 2008, but it was canceled for the first time in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers had originally set an early August 2021 return, but decided it would be safer to push it back by a few months.

In lieu of live performances last year, the event turned virtual with Inside Lands, a free two-day streaming event that featured performances from Outside Lands’ first dozen years.
